Description: This is an experimental-theoretical course comprising methods for fermentation and mammalian cells cultivation for industrial protein manufacturing in biotechnology. The course focuses on parameters from cell bank, seed bioreactor, and wave bioreactor to scale up. At each level the course emphasizes the media components and its response, feeding strategies, control parameters at the bioreactor technology, protein induction, quality control general protein recovery, purification, formulation, filling, and aseptic packaging.
