PROFESSIONAL IN INDUSTRIAL MICROBIOLOGY

The student will be papered in prokaryotic and eukaryotic organism, molecular biotechnology environmental industrial microbiology, sample collection and handling, cleaning, facilities, sanitization, aseptic techniques, gowning, media preparation and sterilization techniques, cell growth and fermentation. In addition, will have courses in quality control in microbiology-biotechnology, validation, good manufacture practices (GMP) and regulations. The program is ideal to perform duties assisting microbiologist in microbiological laboratory of industries or Health laboratories.

A graduate of this program will be able to provide services in industries as a microbiology technician in a wide variety of industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, medical devices, food, agricultural products, hospitals,and clinical laboratories. As a microbiology technician, some of your roles will be to aid scientists and microbiologists in their research. The technician act as an assistant during laboratory experiments that examine how microscopic organisms behave and evolve. In some cases, you'll be responsible for analyzing samples of water, food, blood, or hazardous waste. Keep clean laboratories including aseptic and sterile conditions.

Educational Format

The format of the IBI diploma programs consists of 2 semesters of 16 weeks. Requirements: Have completed High School or a higher degree. It is desirable to have previous professional experience, post-secondary basic courses and/or be displaced.
