ELECTRICITY AND ELECTRONICS TECHNICS

The program of Electricity and Electronics Technician prepares the student to work in the electrical industries. The student will be prepared in the areas of electrical and electronic systems, energy flow, electricity, magnetism, electrical conversion and storage, mechanics, preventive maintenance, semiconductors, transistors, thyristors “troubleshooting”, pneumatics, hydraulics, diagrams, schematics, sensos, optic, problem identification, automated systems (PLC), mechanics and equipment adjustment,
HVAC, instrumentation, and calibration. In addition, it will have basic acknowledgement of chemistry and mathematics. The program provides the acknowledgment to request the licences in Electronic Technician and/or Expert Electrician (perito”).

Source of jobs

Technician with skills and knowledge in installation, maintenance, repair of electrical appliances, for residential and commercial systems such as electrical wiring, DC and AC current of motors, controls and power distribution and transmission panels, prototype development, testing, system analysis, instrument calibration and preparation of electrical estimates and reports. Industries of interest are electric power companies, electric cars, wind turbines, photovoltaic farms, aviation, pharmaceutical, biotech, household, automotive and others.

Educational Format

The format of the IBI diploma programs consists of 3 semesters of 16 weeks. Requirements: Have completed High School or a higher degree.
