BIOTECNOLOGICAL INSTRUMENTATION IN ELECTRICITY MECHANICS TECHICIAN
The program develops students’ knowledge and skills to perform as instrumentalists in the biotechnology industry. The technician will be trained in electricity, electronics, mechanics, calibration, semiconductor, transistors, thyristors, magnetism, sensors, atomization (PLC), preventive maintenance, problem identification, corrective actions, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting. It covers the principal instruments of the manufacture and laboratories of biotechnology industries such as bioreactors, centrifuges, and other equipment related for cell growth, fermentation, protein production, purification, and
others. In addition, the students will be offered the fundamental foundation of biology, chemistry, mathematics, and topics of good manufacturing practices, validations and the regulations that apply to industry. The program provides the acknowledgment to request the licences in Electronic Technician (Instrumentation) and/or Expert Electrician (“perito”).

The program allows the technician to work in the biotechnological, pharmaceutical, agricultural, chemical, and medical device industries as an electrical-mechanical technician. Including instrumentation, calibration repair in sophisticated industrial equipment. You can work in installation, calibration, mechanics, electricity, maintenance, troubleshooting, validation, pneumatic, hydraulic, automatization, PLC’s and repair of bioreactors, centrifuges, homogenizers, protein purification systems, ultrafiltration, among others.
The format of the IBI diploma programs consists of 3 semesters of 16 weeks.
Requirements: Have completed High School or a higher degree.
Program face-to-face: Classes at IBI or Hybrid
