PROFESSIONAL IN EVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

The Program will provide knowledge and skills to perform as a Professional in Environmental Protection. The student will gain knowledge of environmental protection of plants, animals, soil conservation, air, and aquatic systems. Students will have knowledge of environmental sampling, chemical and microbiological analyses, basic recognition of pests, to be determined in the study area. The students will be trained to investigate the discharges and dispersion of toxic substances and basic transformations of used water, solid waste, and air pollution.

The technician can work in government laboratories, private industry and the federal government if required.Some of the functions that he may perform will be evaluation of environments and external factors that affect the ecosystem,including pollution control, hazardous waste, health protection. He will be able to collect data and perform wildlife analysis on animals, soil conservation, air, and aquatic systems. He will have knowledge of environmental monitoring, chemical and microbiological analysis, basic recognition of pests, to be determined in the study area and interpretation of the analysis.

Educational Format

The format of the IBI diploma programs consists of 2 semesters of 16 weeks.
Requirements: Have completed High School or a higher degree. It is desirable to have previous professional experience, post-secondary basic courses and/or be displaced.
