PET GROOMING BASIC LEVEL (40 Hours)

The course emphasizes canine anatomy including the skeletal system, muscle, skin, and coat. The use of dog grooming tools such as brushes, combs, clippers, blades, padding, and nail cutting. The different types of coats, bathing and drying, basic cutting, trimming, brushing, and detangling techniques are introduced to dog grooming. The student is trained in different cuts, canines and basic puppy cut styles. Machine cut, typical cut in different breeds long hair, short hair, curly and hard hair. Instructed in canine first aid, evaluation and response to emergencies, care for wounds and bleeding, poisoning and allergic reactions, CPR, and respiratory emergencies. Topics of legislation on animal abuse, animal rights, legal obligations, prevention, education, and social change are addressed. It introduces you to how you can turn your Pet Grooming knowledge and skills into a business in dog grooming, design, workspace setup, equipment, tools, obtaining permits, licenses, business management and operations. The course is in Spanish, 40 Hours, four hours a week. Student must provide their equipment and pet (dog).
