LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

The program prepares students to perform in different facets of clinical and industrial laboratories such as biotechnological, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, medical device, medical health, environment, agricultural processes, food science, water purification and others. The program covers basic biology, chemistry, mathematics, and cell growth. It covers microbiology, sanitation, cleaning, aseptic techniques, gowning, sample collection, solution, and culture media preparation. At the chemical level deals with biological chemistry, instrumentation, process, and water purification. At the technological approaches the technician will be prepare in instrumentation, calibration, electricity, electronics, validation, mechanical preventive maintenance, good manufacture practices (GMP), and regulation.

A laboratory technician is a person who works in a laboratory performing analytical or experimental procedures, maintaining laboratory equipment, from preparing solutions, buffers, cultivation of cells, laboratory maintenance and other duties depending on the laboratory. This position is required in all industries, clinical facilities, hospitals.

Educational Format

The format of the IBI diploma programs consists of 3 semesters of 16 weeks. Requirements: Have completed High School or a higher degree.
