ENVIRONMENTAL FORENSIC TECHNICIANS

Environmental forensics deals with investigation and application of scientific techniques to identify the sources of contaminants in plants, animals, soil, and water resources, with hazardous waste and its bio-transformations. The program in addition deals with hazardous chemical compounds, forensic toxicology, management of endangered threatened and sensitive species, transport, and dispersion of chemical substances in soil, water, and air. The program covers personal safety, environmental law, and preparation to testify in court. The Environmental Forensic Investigation Technician program is aimed at preparing a
technician who can assess the criminal impact on the environmental scene. The Program comprises two components i) recognition, collection, identification, and examination of criminal physical evidence from the crime scene taking into consideration the flora and fauna, soil, water, and air, ii) uses the principles of scientific nature to explain and interpret evidence in legal proceedings.
